First Tues at Capen
Public Welcome Plant Salvage/Rescue Garden Installation/Maintenance
We will do more Spring clean up. There are a number of plants that need to be thinned and will be available for you to take home. These include Downy skullcap (Scutellaria incana), White sage (Artemisia ludoviciana), Squaw-weed (Packera (Senecio) obovata), Devil's walking stick (Aralia spinosa), Silky dogwood (Cornus amomum) and others that will become apparent as we work through the beds. If you want to take plants home, bring your own container. Also bring garden gloves, hand trowel and pruners (small or large) if you have them, and water for the plants (even a milk jug full helps) if you can. There is no water available here. There will be some tools available to loan. We will begin to do an inventory of our plants and locations to have a garden map. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other native plant enthusiasts and share information.
